Sandy Philpott's Webpage

Welcome to Sandy Philpott's Home Page!

Follow the links below to learn more about me.

I am a part-time seamstress and costumer for the Fine Arts Department at Waltham High and a full-time mom to my two children, Ryan (age 9) and Katie
(age 7). I just went back to work part-time a year ago, and it's a challenge trying to do it all, but I'm loving being back at work and I'm especially loving getting to do something so wonderfully creative.

Although I haven't had much time for it of late, I am an avid blogger when I can find the time. My personal blog is called Sandy's Motherhood Blog  because it started off as centering around being the parent of young children, but it's morphed into thoughts on life, health, aging, cooking, red carpet fashion, photography, and pretty much anything else that jumps into my head. For a number of years, I also wrote a monthly column for the Nashua Telegraph. I'll be posting a favorite entry here
every now and then.

I am a musical theater performer. My absurdly complete theatrical resume is here. Groups I have performed with recently include:

Reagle Music Theater (ChristmasTime, Remembering the 40s, A Little Bit of Ireland)

Burlington Players (A Man of No Importance, Nunsense)

Voices of Hope (At Symphony Hall in Boston and the Shalin Liu Center in Rockport)

Over the past few years, I've gotten more into theatrical costuming, most recently as Costume Coordinator for Burlington Players' production of Nuts. Until recently, I also served as one of the DASH Coordinators on the Board of the Eastern Massachusetts Association of Community Theaters (EMACT), and as a theatrical consultant for the DASH program, seeing and evaluating community theatre productions as part of EMACT's annual awards program.

This year I have also taken on the challenge of being co-Den Leader for my daughter's Cub Scout Wolf Den. My son is a Bear, and my husband is Assistant Cubmaster for the Pack. It's a lot of fun doing scouting activities together as a family, from campouts to community service projects to simply learning new skills.

I am married to a wonderfully talented amateur photographer. You can check out his latest photos here. My own collection of favorite photos from various sources is here.
